What is the importance of DeMorgan's Law? Why is it important to simplify logic circuits? What is the "central idea" behind Karnaugh map simplification?

By using DeMorgan?s law we can simplify functions, thus reducing the amount of time it takes to complete the function, allowing the circuit to be used again for another function.  In short, its all a matter of time and logic is minimized.
