What do computers do?

What are the components of a computer, and what is the function of each? Is it possible to build a computer with only one component? Does every component need to be present in every computer? Can you relate the various components in terms of size, speed, cost, etc.?

What are some good points about computers (from point of view of society, business, culture, government, internationalization, etc.)?

What are the problems/isseus with computers (from point of view of soeicty, business, industry, government, culture, etc.)?
