- The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) provides valuable information about the "physical, mental, and social health" of children. The information is geared toward the general public as well as medical personnel.
- The AAP Policy Statement: Guidance for Effective Discipline offers suggestions to parents with regard to disciplining their children.
- The Web site for your textbook, Child Development, has an Online Learning Center with learning objectives, Web resources, quizzes, and PowerPoint slides and more for each chapter. Select a chapter and explore the resources!
- The Web site for Annual Editions: Child Growth and Development 01/02 has a number of links to academic journals and news sources that you may find useful.
- The National Network for Child Care sponsors an Information Station that contains valuable information about children and child rearing. This site will be a valuable reference throughout the course.

- Your most valuable Web link for this section of the course is the online resource center for Child Development. Within the Student Resources section you will find Web links for each chapter. These links include additional Web resources, a glossary, pop quizzes, and more.
- Dr. William G. Huitt at Valdosta State University has written an excellent overview of Erikson's theory of socioemotional development.
- Better Homes and Gardens has an article that goes into more detail on Galinsky's stages of parenting.

- American Psychological Association (APA) Help Center Site Map can help you find information on many topics dealing with family and relationships.
- American Association of Retired Persons (AARP): Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. This site contains information and additional resources to help grandparents raise grandchildren.
- The National Coalition for the Homeless has posted a fact sheet, Homeless Youth, providing information on homeless children in the United States.
- KidsHealth.org is a site maintained by the Nemours Foundation. It offers information on growth and development, general health, medical problems, behavior and emotions, and more.
